Meaningful moments build young brains

The more we learn about child brain development, the more we recognise the importance of early life experiences. Babies learn every day through thousands of small interactions with their parents and other special people in their lives.

We live in a busy world, full of distractions and things that can get in the way of these important interactions. CoLab (Collaborate for Kids) is a partnership between Telethon Kids Institute and the Minderoo Foundation, devoted to helping parents re-discover those meaningful moments, and give their children the best possible start in life.

A different app for every user

The Bright Tomorrows app was an ambitious project, seeking to bring together rich content, animation, motivational interviewing theory, and machine learning, to present more than 1000 meaningful moments in the most effective way possible. More than a simple library of content, the app would use a number of innovative strategies to connect parents with tailored content just for them.

Reach HPI worked closely with a large, diverse project team, to bring all these moving parts together and produce the finished product.

A system of many different parts

An app of the complexity of Bright Tomorrows required a range of skills. As well as mobile development for iOS and Android, the project required a robust, scalable backend and a web admin interface. It also required complex algorithm development to provide tailored recommendations, and to customise large amounts of content for users.

The diverse needs of the project put it squarely in Reach HPI’s wheelhouse. We specialise in building teams that are a perfect fit for our projects.
